The richly embroidered cuffs, belt and epigonation in shades of gold and coloured thread on white or ruby red poly silk shantung, contrast with the delicately decorated felonion. With crosses and roundels scattered across the felonion, PIVA echoes the style of vestments we often see in the 12th and 13th century frescoes which adorn many of the late Byzantine churches of the Balkans, Mt Athos and further east. The felonion is light-weight and unlined.
